Introducing
Sheiks Pride - Landed 2007
This horse without a doubt is the star for the future.
When I first met her in January of 2007 she had just
come from a succesful career on the race track
and had commenced her early polo training. I have
never been lucky enough to sit on a truly un-spoilt
mare - every aspect of her was natural her lead
changes, her balance, her correct use of her hind
quarters, her fearless approach to life - everything
was natural to her.
She remaind in South Africa until August 2007 in
order that she could continue her all important
early polo training under one of the best producers
of top class young horses that I know. This worked
highly successfully as Sheiks Pride was able to
progress from young horse practices through to
full grown up polo.
Since here arrival in the UK Sheiks Pride has
continued her all round education and having
played a number of high goal practices with the
likes of Luke Tomlinson and a well known 6
goal Argentine Player, together with playing
actual tournament polo at 6 and 8 goal level
with a young 3 goal player; it was deemed that
whilst only young this incredibly tallanted mare
needed the mental and physical challange of
a more demanding level of polo and thus she
played the 22 goal Warwickshire Cup with Glen
Gilmore.
All of
us who have been lucky enough to be
involved in producing this exceptional mare
new that she was "special", but even she blew
all of us away with skill and approach that she
displayed during the Warwickshire Cup.
Mares of this ability and un-spoiltness rarley
come on to the market this mare is destended
for the very, very top.
