Delicate Touch -
Landed UK 2007
Delicate is one of the most stunning mares we
at Oliver Twist have seen for many years, both
in looks and conformation. She is wide in the eye,
long in the leg, beautifully short
coupled in the
back and seriously powerful in the hind quarters.
Having arrived here at our farm in early October
2007 Delicate is fully adjusted, acclimatised and
has already played the early 2008 season high
goal with Glen Gilmore, the 18 goal Indian Empire
Shield at Cowarth Park with John Paul Clarken
together with numerous high goal practices.
Delicate has a light mouth, awesome power and
a natural lateral ability, life for Delicate is just
huge fun, everything that is asked of her she
tackles with exuberance, flair and determination,
her agility, ability and spped are unquestionable
which makes this mare truly exciting.
Delicate
has a very a very good racing pedigree,
her sire Fard is a horse that was raced
in England and proved to be exceptional. He was
a leading two-year-old of his generation winning
the top 2yo race in the Middle Park Stakes (Gr 1)
at Newmarket. He was also placed in several
other two-year-old races. Delicates dam in her
own right was a notable mare and was a winner
of four races over 6 & 10 furlongs.
Prior to
being cross trained for polo Delicate played
at A grade Polocrosse with an international player
and was a vital member of their winning squad.
For the last two years Delicate has played the
high goal level in South Africa including in the
National Championships.
