Oliver
Twist Polo Ponies for sale - News June 2009
May as always has been a frantic month for us here at Oliver Twist.
I seem
to live in my lorry! Our ponies mean-time have been very busy prepping
up for
the season and I am thrilled with how they have all been performing.
Our
high goal mares have been playing the 22 goal, our medium/low goal mares
have been strutting their stuff in the 8, 12 & 15 goal and have
been playing
out of their socks. When not playing this they have been playing in
the 2 & 4
goal with both a patron and a young professional.
As regular visitors to our site, many of you will know that my latest
adventure is writing novels (and yes they do have a polo theme to them!).
With the demands of editors and publishers being even worse than some
high goal players I could mention, we are taking the opportunity to
sell
some of our mares at the Selected Polo Pony Auction to be held at Guards
on the 10th June. This Auction is the first of its kind and is being
run by the
polosaleroom and Emma Tomlinson. A pony trial day is being held at the
Beaufort Polo Club on the 7th June. For further details of this important
sale, please contact the polosaleroom office at www.polosaleroom.com
For specific details of our Oliver Twist ponies please do not hesitate
to
contact me direct and don't worry, if one of our ponies catches your
eye
in the meantime you don't have to wait for the public sale! - Business
is as
usual until we are satisfied that our exceptional mares have all found
suitable homes.
For me, as I look out of the window at my mares in the paddocks, I can
not
but help to feel sad that this is an end of what has been the most
awesome experience. To have had the privilege of owning & producing
many
wonderful ponies and see them play in the Cartier International, Queens
Cup,
Gold Cup through to top end of Pony Club and to have met so many
wonderful and interesting people throughout the years of doing this.
However
I know I must be brave and look forward to the next chapter in my life
- the
world of the publishing industry!! I will always cherish these last
8 years to
have had the opportunity to work with the most wonderful equine athletes
in
the world - the Polo Pony.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy 2009
polo
season.
Emma Oliver
